I told selfcontained I was gonna write her a guide to Chloe/Oliver. Except just listing the episodes wasn't enough, so here's where I babble for 4 pages about them. Sorry, Bethany. :)

That Chloe/Oliver show that I watch. )

I giggled gleefully through this whole post, and it is so hilariously accurate that I am saving to memories just so if I ever have to give Smallville-watching advice to a potential new Chlollier, I can point them here and then pour myself a glass of wine, instead of exerting any actual thought or effort myself. :)

And as a thank you I will post a new Firsts fic tonight. (Okay, I was totally going to anyway. But still.)

HEE! I'm so glad to be of help! *g*

But really, I started just writing down the episodes and then I realized there were the AWFUL ones with the awesome Chloe/Ollie scenes stuck in the middle, and then it derailed into insanity.

And yaaaaay new fic from you! Already looking forward to reading it a bit later. :)

OH MY GOD, ERIN, I KNOW IN MY HEART OF HEARTS YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

And the best part is -- it's fucking Smallville, you don't actually have to watch all of it to get the gist of the latter seasons, because IT DOESN'T MATTER. So, yeah, if you're gonna go just for the Chloe/Ollie, this is all you gotta watch.

Okay, so, I get why if you like/'ship Clark and Lex you'd think the latter seasons are atrocious. And yeah, S8 is PRETTY AWFUL [except when it isn't, I can name at least 3 episodes that are bonafide good television], but the thing is, S9 and S10? Are really good for Smallville standards. By now I've watched enough from S1-S7 [not all of it, but I've seen more than half of the total eps], and I haven't seen a single episode that I thought was better than the stuff from S9-S10 that I really love.

And yes, Chloe's arc in S9-S10 is AWESOME. [S8 is a mess, but if it hadn't happened, then the stuff in S9 that I love to tiny little pieces wouldn't have happened either, so I've learned to appreciate S8 in hindsight.]

Yeah, I get that -- I liked earlier seasons Lex, all conflicted and in love with Clark and shit. But the minute he started going evil just 'cause his name is Lex Luthor the character lost all of my interest.

**laughs** I was in Goodwill the other day, and there was a copy of Season Six of Smallville and I almost bought it for $10, but eventually thought better of it. Glad to know I dodged a bullet there.

I am very impressed with how you manage to trudge through so much bad/ridiculous television for the occasional gem of an ep, or for the rare shiptastic moment :P

Haha, God, NO. Stay away from S6. Of the earlier seasons, S4 and S5 are the good solid ones in my opinion.

I never thought I'd EVER watch Smallville, but the thing is, I actually think S9 and S10 are good TV seasons. Sure, it's SMALLVILLE, and the cheesy dialogue and the stupid plot holes and the RIDICULOUS COSTUMES are all there, but I started watching because I liked two characters, and I can honestly say I like ALL main characters right now in S10, so I consider that a win. :)
