I'm so delighted you like Gentlemen of the Road, which I also just read and loved. It's a sign of my slash obsession that I was disappointed in the sexual reveal of Filaq, but I still loved the book. I'd probably want someone less attractive than Bettany in the role of Zelikman (someone attractive-ugly, like I like 'em) but I understand where you're going with that. I think I may request it for Yuletide!

I was only upset about Filaq to the extent that the OTP was interfered with, but hey! They sledded off into the sunrise together were back on the road together in the end, so all is well, as far as I'm concerned. *g*

And yay, Yuletide!!

Excuses need never be made for Gordon Lightfoot. The voice, the lyrics, the lush sound of 12-string guitar. He's timelessly cool.

i was obsessively listening to "if you could read my mind" for a week or so a couple months ago, so, thanks for starting me on that again.

If it's any consolation, I've been listening to Jens Lekman a fair amount this week. :)

Are you still writing that Southland telepathy AU? I thought, you know, considering the circumstances, but anyhow, that's great new! I am so glad to hear that.

And, also, the Gordon Lightfoot version has GOT to be better than that wierd remake that was floating around when I was in the eightth grade, good heavens.

I am still writing! I got kind of bummed out and slowed down by the cancellation, but I didn't actually give up - and now the New York Times is reporting that an announcement is expected soon and TNT will be picking the show up and airing it starting in January!!

And are you sure you're not thinking of the "Sundown" remix? Or is there actually a remake of "If You Could Read My Mind" that I'm happier not knowing about? :)

OH MY THAT IS SHINY HAPPY NEWS I COULD SING I REALLY COULD.

Ahem.

Seriously, this means I can catch it on DVD or watch it on Showcase or Bravo or something. YAY! In other words it will still exist and BMac will have a job, which will make my mom and The Little Sister happy. They're old school OC fans.

Huh. Now you mention it, I don't actually know. I do know there was a cool acoustic version and a very nice, but somehow unsatisfying pop/r and b version Let me look it up.

Yes, it is the same song. Goodness gracious. Well, the pop one isn't bad, it's really quite sweet, but the lyrics aren't meant to be poppy, if that makes sense, so it's a little jarring.

My, what a weird song to try to turn into a pop hit. I'm glad I missed that one.

AND NOW IT'S OFFICIAL! YAAAAAAAAAAAYS! January 12, here we come!!
