Last night I was fretting a little about whether I would have my Southland fic ready to post before S2 starts (at which point, given the slightest provocation, I expect to become an ardent John/Cesar shipper).

I'd better get fic out of this. Otherwise I'm going to have to protest; I was hoping to have it back before Defying Gravity stopped airing, because apparently I get twitchy when there isn't a BoB cast member on my television at least once a week. Bad things happen. Like complicated AUs featuring Dick Winters, idealistic young doctor, and his partner in a shoestring nonprofit, Lewis Nixon.
There are fights over Lew spending his trust fund dividends to pay for lab equipment. Dick accidentally gets outed by his mother over coffee, and then can't serve with his reserve unit like he wants. It's all very clearly going to be badfic, and will probably end in tears.

"You freaking out, Boo?"
Ben snorted, which sounded like a yeah, so what else is new to John. "Are you?"
John rubbed a hand over his face. Mostly he was tired, and glad that he didn’t actually have to get up yet. He poked around for freakout and didn't find much. "Guess not. You feeling like punching me in the spine?"
Ben smiled at that. "Your couch is actually pretty comfy, so no. I'm good if you are."
"Yeah," John said. "Your bag's in the kitchen."
"I found it," Ben said, nodded again, and shut the door.

*cries* Are you serious? Like a heart attack?
I kind of think John/everyone ever is the best ship, because he has that much chemistry with the WORLD.

I have a sad, sad weakness for canon pairings, so if he's actually happy with someone on the show for any length of time, I'll probably run with that. :)
