Lots and lots of light for this show at the Zoo with local showpony operatic songstress Kate Miller-Heidke. As a result, got some very nice shots despite having tough angle to work with because of the crowd packed in front of the stage...

This lot were all great to photograph. Got some super action shots. The stage was rather backlit, especially early on, but it worked very well on several occasions, and the rest I was able to tweak to get something.

I took all these photos in RAW mode. Bigger filesize, but I get a better result because I ultimately have more ability to tweak things without destroying the image quality in photoshop. Raw image task is amazingly simple to use and oh-so-flexible ( Read more... )

More photos through the link. Playing with B&W to try and get them more contrasty by various methods. Used gradient mapping a bit, as well as channel mixer and multiply. Probably over-egged it on a couple, but I like this one particularly.
