Okay, getting the ball rolling, while I still have full computer access!

Creator: mizface
Fandom: Harper's Island/Supernatural
Current Fic Word Count: around 1850
Character/Pairing: canon
What I Like About the Fanwork so far: I still lovelovelove the idea, all creepy and dark and really wrong. Plus I love the challenge of fitting demonic elements into canon HI
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: I haven't had a lot of time to work on it, plus going to that dark place is rough to start. Once I'm there, I wallow in it pretty well, but getting there...
Anything Else: I've had TONS of RL stuff that has kept my fannish stuff at a minimum, but that seems to be changing - yay summer! But I've had difficulty balancing two big bang ideas, and it's easier to do the other, so that's what I've done so far. Not worried about getting this done at this point, but it's definitely taken a back burner *pets fic*

Current Fic rough percentage of Art created: maybe 25%? Estimating arts is HARD, yo
Character: Fraser, Ray, Ray, Dief, Elaine, Frannie, Welsh, Stella, the Duck Brothers (all 3) and bonus!Turtle just appeared this week - an even 10 sketches, yay!
What I Like About the Fanwork so far: omg ROBOTS. *heart eyes* But in addition to that, it's really freeing doing art that will define the characters in a new way, and yet doing almost no writing or plotting to go with it
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: Welsh is proving surprisingly elusive, as is Stella. I have basic concept drawings, but nothing to make them dynamic or uniquely them (yet)
Anything Else: I'm really pleased with my progress so far. Four of the sketches are ready to transfer to the "good" paper for clean-up and coloring, and most of the others (see above) are at least to the point where I know what the page composition will be. I'm concerned about coloring them, but plan on keeping it minimal, so that should help. And I ( ... )

Current Fic Word Count/Podfic or Vid length/rough percentage of Art created: 5000 words
Character/Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski, Ray Vecchio's POV
What I Like About the Fanwork so far: I'm still feeling very enthusiastic about it
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: I'm completely stuck! I really WANT to write, plus RL is giving me enough free time at the moment, but I have absolutely NO IDEA what's going to happen in the rest of the fic, now that I've finished the set-up... Oh well, it's just a matter of sitting down and thinking hard about it, I suppose!

If you'd like someone to bounce ideas off of...er, normally I'd offer to be a sounding board, but I'm about to go on an internet-free vacation for a while. But I'll be around for the next few days, if you'd like to drop me an email. Or I bet other folks would be willing to do the same. :)

Hey, thanks for the offer! Especially since you were such an amazing sounding board the last time round. Sounds like you've probably already gone on holidays by now, though? And yes indeed, rose_malmaison was kind enough to make the same offer. So I won't bother you this time - I'll just wish you a great vacation :)

Not quite gone yet, but very soon. :) Good luck with the story -- I look forward to reading the final product.

Current Fic Word Count/Podfic or Vid length/rough percentage of Art created: All three podfics drafted & in beta (one back from beta and in tinkering phase). And I have generated my own edits list for the long one.
Character/Pairing: F/K
What I Like About the Fanwork so far: Recording it has been a lot of fun, and there are some bits of voice-acting I'm particularly pleased with how they came out.
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: My stupid computer fan! Also my lack of facility with the technology in general. And the eternal question for editing, namely, "will splicing in a new take of this line be more jarring than the problem in the original take?"
Anything Else: I'm not going to be able to work on the project for the next several weeks, but hopefully come mid-July I'll be able to sit down and edit the heck out of it. I'm still a bit worried about editing so long after recording (and for some bits of AMP it's like 6 months after!), in terms of vocal consistency, ( ... )

Wow - great progress!!! I am no help on tech stuff other than cheering you on, so that's what I'll do

Current Fic Word Count: about 8000
Character/Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
What I Like About the Fanwork so far: I did some banners and 'covers' for it, which got me in the mood.
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: Changing my mind about some of the content. I'm driving along and I'm determined to edit out a section and when I get in front of the story I can't cut it out even though I think it needs it.
Anything Else: I think my problem is I didn't think things through very well to begin with. I also got distracted and signed up for another BB and also wrote some other fics - but am now dedicating myself to this BB. I do have a schedule worked out but I'm a little behind. Going to work on it now.

That happened to me two years ago - I ended up changing almost all the story after months of working on it. It can be frustrating, but it'll be worth it in the end. Yay for a schedule! =)
