Current Fic Word Count: Um....I'm only 19,870 words from meeting the minimum
Character/Pairing: Probably RayK/Fraser, but may end up gen, depending on how things develop
What I Like About the Fanwork so far: The possibilities!! There are so many ways this could go.
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: The possibilities! There are too many ways this could go!! It could be crack - probably wants to be crack - but it could take a dark turn as well. Is there such a thing as dark!crack?

Anything Else: I'm not entirely certain I can get on track to actually finish this. But life is beginning to settle down, and I really need the distraction, so...maybe...?

I like the suggestion made above about writing nonlinearly. That may be a way to get back into this - don't worry about how the pieces join up, just get the pieces in place.

*fistbump for ridiculously small word counts* We can totally do this!!

Dark crack sounds interesting. I can't wait to see what direction it ends up going. Good luck with nonlinear writing - that's my favorite trick. =)

Oh my god, is it checkpoint time again? Aaah!

What I Like About the Fanwork so far: I am finally getting a handle on writing Kowalski!
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: WHY ARE THERE SO MANY SEX SCENES?
Anything Else: Taking a break from this for a while to work on some other writing commitments with looming deadlines. Hopefully this will serve a double purpose and let me come back to it with a little bit of distance, because I've been staring at it for so long that I think I've lost any sense of pacing.

There's definitely a lot to be said for putting a project down and working on something else for a while. Good luck with your other projects, and I hope the dS fic is all new and shiny and easy to work with when it's time.

Current Fic Word Count/Podfic or Vid length/rough percentage of Art created: I don't really vid linearly, so...probably....70%?
Character/Pairing: Ray Vecchio (as Langoustini)
What I Like About the Fanwork so far: There's this one clip that still gives me shivers when I get to it even though I've seen it a million times.
What’s driving me nuts about the Fanwork so far: I still can't really get the second half to mesh into the message I want it to send.
Anything Else: I still don't have enough David Marciano footage! I don't think there IS enough David Marciano footage! Aaah!

That's so cool about the clip giving you shivers still. I can't wait to see it! David Marciano totally needs to be in more things!! <3

Hi, would anyone be interested in reading through my first few chapters to see if it's working? I tend to have problems with hopping around in timelines. I think it's okay, and I've been trying to get the first chapters refined before going on to the next few. Just need a read-through and an opinion please.

This is DS slash Fraser/Kowalski, no sex, nothing but gen stuff so far. (Gosh, I hope that doesn't put anyone off!LOL)

Email me would be best - rose.mal.malmaison@gmail.com

gracias!!

Okay, I'm posting because I'm in a quandry. I am a good way into my story and find that although I don't want the guys to admit they have a thing for each other, and don't want even a hint of sex (yet), every time I write they end up in bed on the flimsiest of excuses.
The fic is already too long so I have to cut out a large chunk of side-story involving secondary characters so I feel I'm floundering a bit. Or going in circles. I need to get myself heading in one direction and stick to it!
How do I get back on track? How do you get organized? whiteboard or index cards? Imagine the entire story in your mind first?

Nobody replied to my previous message...and I missed the chat but I've sorted myself out a bit.

In case anyone actually reads these missives - are there any groups where people still talk about Due South in case I have a question I want to pose? I haven't found any that are active.

It's probably more likely you'll get people to see a new posting to a comm than a comment on a post that's more than a few days old. (I don't know what the mods of this comm feel about people posting to the comm with requests for help; my guess would be it's okay but you could ask them.)

If you're still looking for someone to brainstorm about stuckitude with, I could possibly help; but the next couple of weeks involve a bunch of low-internet travel for me and I'm a bit crunched for time. (Normally I'd offer to look at your draft if you're still in search of someone to do that, but I think I realistically don't have the time right now.)

Thanks for replying...I think I am over the hump but I still feel I'm working in a vaccuum. I've decided that I can sacrifice completing my NCIS Big Bang in favor of concentrating on this one, so I don't feel quite so pressured. I just took on too much. Enjoy your summer!
