This for me was a massive meta turning point in DS9, with its heavy message that plot reset button endings are a bad and destructive thing.

I was not enjoying the episode particularly but the ending REALLY made it for me. The episode deliberately left many questions about older!Odo's behaviour and Kira's right to choose to live or die and the value of one live over the potential of many. I did like the Klingon tribe, though! They were all super-serious hardcore Klingons just as Jadzia accused Worf of trying to be!
