It's sad that Sean is the closest thing to a friend Toby has right now, even though Sean is a good friend to have. (I hope that makes sense.)
Toby got his hair cut? :(( But I guess it's a good thing, since we know that proper hair care is always Toby's first step back to sanity.
Thank God Toby decided to sober up, but I'd love to know exactly what the impetus was... I want to know what transpired between Chris and Toby when Toby came to visit him. There's some great potential for some Missing Scene fic for this story from Chris or Toby's POV (or even Tim's) should you ever want to revisit this universe in the future. Just sayin'. ;)
His voice was rough, like he'd spent the last couple of days fronting a heavy metal band.
You're laying more groundwork here for that rock-star Toby AU, aren't you? ;D
He moved to head downstairs, paused, and asked back over his shoulder, quietly, "Was he okay? When you saw him?"*melts

Totally makes sense. Now I'm connecting it back to your Holly-Murphy story, and realising even if he had someone trying to be a friend to him, Sean is the only one who could possibly have a grip on who he is now. For all that Victoria and Holly only have a filtered view of Toby, that's still a lot more than any friends - new or old - would have. (Yes, I had Sean explain exactly that to Chris, but now suddenly I'm grasping it a little more

I generally find attractive personality makes the character physically attractive to me. I don't know if Sean caught my attention before we got to know the character, because he's more 'nice face' than 'headturner', but easygoing guy who stands by his principles is my crack. (Sean confessing to Glynn about slashing Morales' tendons was pure pornography to me.)
But McManus - though a fantastic and enjoyable character - is not the slightest bit sexy in personality.
Also I just don't find any... bite? to the pairing. I can enjoy the slash onscreen when it's there, but there's no underlying tension to make them interesting together.
Sean/Ryan doesn't grab me either. I'm less sure why, because that would be a pairing with tension, but... nah. Maybe because blonds aren't my thing. I love love the Ryan/Gloria relationship, but I'm not driven to read or write it.

I can't imagine anyone *not* wanting to see Sean read Tim the riot act. He's the one voice of reason Tim might take seriously.
Thanks, cmk!
