[Egon's brain is beginning to associate Ilsa's voice with her broadcasting and he immediately feels calmer when she takes his arm. He gives her a small smile.]
Yes, it's quite a bit more accurate than I thought it would be. I've gotten some interesting readings, although Mayfield in general seems to have a very normal particle balance. That'll make testing easier at the very least. I can simply use the same calculations I used back home.
This device in particular only detects a high level of electrons; primarily, energy emitted from spectral beings. I would have to add a different kind of emitter to use it for anything else.
That was a minor wind summoning. I can't do much with that right now... most of the time I was using it to spin down tornadoes when I could back home, taking them down a few EF levels when they got too close to the city.
[ She still watching the dials, curiously. ]
We ought to see if there's an EEG machine at the hospital, maybe.
Well... [he stares hard at the sidewalk] I'll need another circuit board, capacitors, converters... I have a few of those, some cables and a power supply, shielding... aluminum should work.
The electrodes will be the hardest part. Normally I'd use shielded audio cables but I'm not sure if we'll be able to find any of those. And a 5-pin DIN plug... we'll definitely have to improvise with older technology.
[He gives her sort of mischievous smile.] But it can be done.
[ Ilsa thinks a minute. ] ... the TV at the house is an Admiral, and a combo console. The kids are the only ones that watch it, and not that much. Want to see if anything in it will work?
You finished it! How is the testing going?

[He gives her a questioning glance.]
What did you have in mind?

[ Ilsa cranes her head to see the meter. ] ...anything reading with that?

It just jumped from 130 to 350 but that only lasted a second. Still, it was significant. What did you do?

[He pauses to think, gaining that famous I've-got-an-idea twinkle in his eye.]
... I could build one.
