[ The first indication that Ilsa is there is when his hand leaves the work to pick up something else, and she intercepts to check his pulse. ]

When did you last eat?

[The sudden grip on his wrist startles Egon so badly that he drops the circuit board from his other hand. It clatters harmlessly onto the table and he sighs loudly.]

Damn, Ilsa. You're not going to get an accurate reading, now.

[How the hell did she come out of nowhere like that?]

Uh,... lunch. I think.

[He attempts to make it sound better.]

I had a candy bar a couple hours ago.

((I'm writing this on the assumption that he went to get his left arm back as soon as the zombiefest was over. He's two-handed again. If the mods refuse my post office exchange request for whatever reason we'll just go back and edit.)

[ Sneaking up is easy when you leave the door open and concentrate on a small area. No need to teleport. ]

Lunch? You do realize it's after 2200? Sugar rush from the candy bar is going to crash you soon. If you aren't going to sleep, you need to eat.

[ She make "tch" noises as she checks his eyes. ]

[He blinks and then checks his watch. So it is after 10 already. He'd been out here nearly five hours. Perhaps it was time for a break.]

Probably a good idea.

[He stands from the work table and brushes off his hands but that only succeeds in smearing the grease even more.]

I think there's leftovers in the fridge. Uh, you want to come in? Everyone should be asleep.

[Peering into the garage is a golden eyed albino woman that has a certain odd air about her]

Hrm... The decisive tinkerings of mechanical fairies seems quite popular this evening...

Oh no... Just you remind me of someone from a dream... Though it may not be my dream... As dreams are so very hard to understand some days.

[He's still assuming that people have come here from different planes and realities so he's become accustomed to seeing strange people. But this woman is especially odd.]

Do I? Interesting. Dreams in which you meet someone can indicate precognitive abilities.

[Gumshoe happens to be walking Missile around town when he catches a whiff of the melting solder and notices a garage open. A garage open and filled with dismantled electronics while someone is at a table with his back to him.

He walks closer, taking a look around and then looks over the shoulder of the person at the bench to see what they're working on.]

Oh wow, pal, that looks way more complicated than a metal detector...

[The man who approaches Egon in his garage makes him feel suddenly homesick. The guy reminds him of a good old New York City cop and he can't help but smile at him.]

That's because it's a ghost detector. Or it will be once I can figure out how to create a psychokinetic energy sensor using 1950's technology.

[Gumshoe stares blankly for a moment as he tries to digest those words.]

Psycho-what now? What kind of energy is that?

Wait, a ghost detector?! Really? Like the stuff you sometimes see on TV? Those reality show ones, I mean.

[Egon doesn't look amused. Of course, he's used to that sort of response but having his inventions and research compared to that of reality shows irks him in a particular way. He's especially reminded of that stupendously offensive show that Venkman used to host, World of the Psychic ( ... )

But she will be leaving a nice covered plate of food in the garage at some point, because eating is good!]

Thanks, Leona.

[A girl in her later teens walks by the garage, focused on her own problems, until she hears the work of soldering. It snaps her out of her gloss, and turns to its direction.

You may notice said girl wearing a red hairband now watching what your doing, not quite over your shoulder but enough to get the feel of presence, unless you really are that focused.]

[It takes Egon a few moments before he senses that someone is there. He straightens up and twists around to see who it is. Not recognizing this girl, he offers his standard professional greeting. Don't be offended. It's him, not you.]

I--I'm sorry, I was just curious. [She relaxes after that, since he greets her so.] It reminds me of Grathmelding. What are you working on?

[Egon is becoming so accustomed to hearing about strange beings and things from other worlds that he doesn't even show confusion at the mention of Grathmelding, whatever that is.

Rather, he's pleased to hear interest and will now spew techo-babble, completely oblivious to whether or not he's boring the girl.]

This is a device that measures PKE, pyscho-kinetic energy. Especially high levels of this type of energy indicate paranormal activity, particularly that of ghosts and other kinds of projections, channels, and emissions originating from alternate dimensions.

I'm hoping to find some clues and piece together information about the nature of Mayfield. ...Possibly even find a way to escape.
