The thing I don't like about tilapia, and any farm-raised fish, is that fish farming is poorly-to-not regulated, and tends to spread pollution and disease to the last few parts of the world we haven't managed to completely ruin yet. :P

Farm-raised fish still falls under the investigation of the FDA before it can hit the market. Depending on how and where you acquire your fish- there shouldn't be any contaminates or antibiotics in farm-raised fish. Should you trust the FDA 100%? Absolutely not- but it does help us filter out some of the healthy from the non-healthy. You're better off really catching your own fish from a neutral environment that isn't affected by any other water sources. Otherwise you're pretty much just putting your trust into ANY real food source, assuming that it hasn't been altered or contaminated by anything when presented before you.

While on the topic, though, the troubles with factory farmed land animals exist with fish, too. That farm raised fish is not as good for you, because its diet is not as varied or healthy. They're dosed with scary-high levels of antibiotics, too, so yum. :P
