One of the cats has eaten an entire bowl of sweetcorn; should I be worried?  It's Ebenezer and now he looks a bit ill, but then again, he always does.  Dora's watching him closely outside, under strict instructions not to pull his tail and to come and get me as soon as anything sweetcorn-related comes out of his mouth.  It wasn't that vital to the ( Read more... )

French is a terrible language developed by terrible people who make terrible cheese and wine. I can't blame Dora for spending her time outside watching the cat's every orifice. Teach her German. It sounds so violent and horrible, and I think lets you drink more in the long run.

And right, you go ask my sister with the five kids whether teaching them anything besides how to fend for themselves so she can get three minutes of sleep a week is a good idea.

I don't know German, sadly. And while the idea of the two of us learning something together sounds nice in theory, in practice I feel it would be slightly less than successful.
