Remember, if you don't buy the hardback now, you will be the subject of polite, yet palpable condecension from the early adopters.
Alternatively, if social issues don't motivate you, the hardback you buy today can be flogged for more than the cover price after it goes out of print.
If you are motivated by neither social phobia nor greed, remember that buying the hardback makes the world a better place. Will no one think of the children?
Hardcover's rock. I was on the fence for a little while on getting S7S, but the last post on dwindling hardcovers got me - I hadn't realized there were any left.
I know I love my SoTC and HotB hardcovers, and I expect S7S to be similarly loved.
I've heard the HotB softcover referred to as a "phonebook" - order hardcover today!
Nothing to do with the above, about Origins 09marcdavignonMay 7 2009, 16:51:19 UTC
Fred, I need a hand. The only convention I'm going to this year is Origins. I was wondering if yourself or Mr. Donoghue, evil hat or one bad egg would be attending. Also you are on the inside, very bloggy and stuff, can you explain to me why no one is talking about this con. I can't find one blog or article or anything anywhere about this convention. I'm the kind of guy who relies on the advice of others to find the cool places and fun games, but so far nothing, not a word. It's like it's not even happening. Can you help a gamer out? I've listened to hours of your podcasts and would love to try some of your games.

Nope, I'm not expecting to make it, and neither is Rob as far as I know. Rob has a newborn, and my wife's due date is right around the same time as Origins, so the summer conventions this year are pretty much out for Evil Hat.
I don't know why folks aren't talking about Origins. Of the big conventions I've been to, it's my favorite.
