On Saturday, my friend J.R. Ewins died in a car accident on his way back to Grinnell. Last night, the boy I'd been dating for four months told me he's been cheating on me for a month and a half. The funeral is Friday. This is the worst week I can remember in a long time, and it's only Wednesday morning.

If my life were a Bronte novel, right now would be serious foreshadowing of undeserved but fatalistically unavoidable tradgedy for our heroine. I need a friend to hold my hand, tell me it will be get better, and make me realize I'm being stupid without making me feel dumb.
