The Black Crusade game had to fold, because I'm too stressed and overworked to concentrate as a GM. So we're playing boardgames and cardgames - this week it was Smash Up, where the players each choose a themed deck - Zombies, or Dinosaurs, say - and battle it out for control of locations such as R'lyeh or The Cave of Shinies. Flash Point sounds interesting. I don't think I've played a cooperate board game before.

The single-story residential boards were hard enough - we took one look at the chemical factory and multi-storey apartment boards and whimpered.

Fires in chemical factories can be a LOT of fun depending on what's fun. Liquid sodium fires are not something you'll want to encounter, for instance, and they're far from the worst. Chlorine trifluoride is so nasty you basically can't extinguish it at all, you just have to let it run its course and hope for the best.

I'm actually morbidly curious now what the single worst substance you could be asked to deal with is, from a firefighter's point of view.
