A two-meter-long fossil anomalocarid from Morocco - thats not only one of the largest invertebrates ever found, it's a filter feeder, AND it proves the anomalocarids had two pairs of limbs on each body segment, which links them to the earliest arthropods.

The fossilised brain of "the Cambrian T-rex" is not only fascinating in itself, but is also further evidence that the Velvet Worms are the last living relatives of the Anomalocarids.

Back from Swancon. Was a good con, and got home in happy exhaustion, although all that good will promptly vanished when I got an email from work telling me I'd need to be in Cloverdale by 7 the next morning.
