Well, its been ages since I last posted ( http://community.livejournal.com/dressdiaries/373182.html#cutid1 ), but so much has happened since my last update on the Jaffa Dress. I had to postpone work on it due to having to make a Victorian wardrobe for a start…

For those who missed the edit and comments on my last entry, a jafa is a lolly with dark orange flavoured chocolate on the inside with a crisp candy-like coaing onthe outside in dark orange/reddish colour.  Think of an m'n'm, but bigger and round and orange flavoured.

EDIT: A Jaffa is a lolly that is round with dark orange chocolate in the middle and a thin coating of candy stuff on the outside that is a dark orange/red colour.  Like an m'n'm but bigger and rounder. Also I have fixed the links up!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking on this community quite a bit while I've been finishing up this gown, and now that it's done I thought I'd post my diary. This was originally started as just a fun project, then got put by the wayside while I moved and started school. I finished it up for the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Ok, so while the boys were out last night I managed to get some photos of me wearing my yellow gamurra, and while I was at it I got photos of the gold and the blue giorne.  I didn't get any more with the pink as I ran out of time.

I only got photos with my green sleeves for the same reason- I wanted some with the burgundy sleeves with the gold ( Read more... )

On friday night I finished my yellow gamurra. I was hoping to get photos on saturday, but I didn't, and I probably won't get any today either.  Here are some quick ones of the dress hanging up.

Ok, more progress on the skirt.
On friday I stiched 6 of those skirt panels together with whip stitch, then I took a break for a few days.  Yesterday (tuesday) I got the last two pannels done at night, and then finished off the neckline and that last lacing ring on the bodice.  Finished pictures of the bodice will follow later as I don't have any ( Read more... )
