A few days ago paragraphs asked what we learned from NaNo and I’ve been giving the question rather a lot of thought. Then earlier today valancy_joy posted her thoughts and that has spurred me on a bit.
I'm really glad I did it and I was skeptical of the word count from day one so I really can't count it as a failure. I learned a hell of a lot about how I write best. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
was talking with valancy_joy about doing our own mini-nano in march or something, b/c november was just a terrible month for me (and maybe lots of other ppl) and i'd really like to get myself motivated enough to do some actual writing on the many many things i have going!
instead of a certain word-goal, we could have a certain writing time every day (an hour, 2 hours, whatever works for the individuals) and go with that - i think when ppl focused too much on their wordcount it sort of hindered their process (or maybe that's just me)
No, not just you, as I too think the competition to get as many words as possible is defeating the purpose. 50k sure, but beyond that? I disagree that more words is better.
ANYWAY--I totally will do that with you guys, if you want me to. I'd love it! I should be finishing up next project for Loose-Id by then, or starting on the fantasy, which is gonna be one crazy project.
It was SO MUCH FUN! I didn't really think it would be so FREAKING FUN!
The Boy, when he could be troubled to utter more than "AWESOME" would like you to know that he just got Behemoth this weekend but he is enjoying it and thinks it builds very nicely on Leviathan and is going in unexpected but excellent directions (but not like Mockingjay levels of unexpected directions.) Also, he likes the cover on Leviathan slightly more.
