So, I relearned last night that partying with a bunch of reporters differs in significant ways from partying with normal people. Or maybe not. I don't really party with normal people so my data may be way off.

Having decided It was just too hot and humid and generally Houston-like (yech) for me to want to drink I stuck with iced tea all night. This ( Read more... )

And since they were baked the flavor really came through. There were also a few batches with chorizo but happily it was the veggie batch that got the extra oven time!

Oh I totally want to make those, although scared of how bitey the jalapenos might be. I'd have to swap out the panko for "real" breadcrumbs as I bet the grocery here in the middle of nowhere will not carry them, but I can't imagine it would change them that much.

totally hungry now... :)

The heat is mostly in the ribs and seeds, and they mellow out when they bake, but still some bite. I'm sure bread crumbs would be fine, I'll actually make them with no crumbs at all for GF friend tonight. Happy to accommodate her gluten-free ways so I can FLEECE HER IN POKER!!! Or whatever we end up playing.

I always cook my poppers for at least 45. That makes the pepper perfect and pleasantly poppable.

That party's on fire! :D

And journalists are a weird batch, especially the ones following politics. We don't do anything by halves.

So many yummy recipes here, I cannot wait to get into my home and try them out.

How timely! My so-called yummy bell plant appears to have been mislabeled, and looks instead to be probably a jalapeno plant. Hence, needs.

My peppers always seem to be something other than what I think. These were great tonight. And obviously, easy to cut down if you're not serving a crowd with your plant.

I'm a little envious that your still getting peppers. They won't set fruit over about 95 F so mine are done until October!
