In the realm of "mundanely shitty ways to start the day", waking up to emails from students calling one, in essence, a mean poopy-head, are among my least favorite

Danger Lad! is eight years-old!! He is so excited! Kids say that they are coming to his party, and some of their parents confirm!

I had one of those this past fall. He TRASHED me in the evals, too.

I just had some bad news on the job front so I'm all out of cheery things. But I hear you and sympathize. And I'll watch this thread of cheery things for my own sake too.

Hi Hug!

Here is some bouncing off the walls happy news: Aryeh's first repeatable sight word is 'Papa'. I was doing flash cards with him, and when I got to the appropriate card he beat me to the punch. I snuck it back into the pile, and he did it again. The next day he was reliably reading 'Papa', 'ball', confuses 'Minx' for Mama, signs correctly for 'milk', and has a few others that are unclear.
