See Leah's almost identical post for good suggestions (none from me - I got nothin').

It seems like there's some really exciting developments behind this that I would be squeeful to hear about when you feel you can share them.

We worked with Joe Cooper at Monument Mortgage on two multiparty purchases; he was fantastically helpful and informative. 616-969-1441.

We have also had generally good luck with Joe Cooper. Aside from the fact that this particular mortgage refinance wound up being with a giant corporation whose customer service SUCKS. Not sure that was actually worth the better rate.

er, that was supposed to be area code 617, if that wasn't obvious.

We used Chris Smith at Capstone Mortgage in Lexington. We never used anyone else, so I can't compare her, but we've refinanced a couple times with her and found her to be no-bullshit, down to earth. If you can't find her by google, I'll look up our paperwork.

Here's the comment I left on beah's post:

Joe Cooper, 617-969-1441, was recommended to me by mzrowan and redheadedmuse after he extracted them from mortgage messiness. He was excellent got me through some of what would've been mortgage messiness, and whenever banks did inscrutable things he explained what was going on such that I understood (banks are apparently incapable of doing that). I had him do my two refinances, and he was great for those too. I recommend him a lot.

P.S. You're buying a house??

P.P.S. And of course, mzrowan & muse's situation was one of those non-standard multi-family situations you seem to be interested in.

we aren't buying a house, precisely, what we are doing is talking about buying a house and trying to figure out the logistics of doing so -- what we can afford, how to structure the mortgage, etc. once we have figured out some of the money stuff, we will start actually looking at places. And then, if we are lucky, the gods will smile upon us and we will find the right place, or the place that could be right with some tweaking, and then, THEN we will buy a house. :D

So, you're looking for a mortgage broker to help with a multiparty purchase of a multifamily dwelling.

beah is also looking for a mortgage broker.

Both you and she want to talk to several different people.

Coincidence?
