I don't tend to think of myself as an indecisive person.  Sure, when I'm tired or worn out I'll be more likely to turn decision-making over to somebody else when trying to decide where to eat dinner or what movie to see.  And I'm sometimes I'm equally happy any one of mutliple options.  But I get stymied when I am presented with truly vast arrays ( Read more... )

If you do have trouble finding something you're happy with, I'd be happy to talk about designing something for you. I love doing non-traditional wedding invites for friends. It does make the process a little more complicated that filling out a form online, but it also makes it a lot more you :)

There are a number of options, ranging from having a professional do it, to printing at Staples, to buying the paper and printing it at home. It depends on the budget and how elaborate you want to get.

Oh wow. What a generous offer! If we were less pressed for time I absolutely would have taken you up on this.

Clearly, I should talk to you after the wedding about doing something fun for thank-you cards. :)

If looking at a further choice will add to your stress, totally ignore this: my coworker just got her (gorgeous, non-traditional) wedding invites from this woman, who she claims is really sweet, easy to work with, and cheap :)

i went to the stationer's, said what i wanted, let them show me four or five designs, picked one, and that was that. when i felt waffly i asked the stationery person "which do you like better?" and took their opinion.

making decisions interactively is easier than making them in a vaccuum, i think is what i'm trying to say.

I have no advice on invitations, but the best advice I ever got about writing came from a woman who wrote fantastically interesting things on Jewish theater during the Holocaust. You've probably heard it before, but either way, it's an excellent writing mantra. Here goes:

Nobody, nobody, nobody ever finishes a paper. We can only abandon them.

Ok so this meets absolutely NONE of your criteria, but you inspired me to poke around, and, well.... WANT!

But I am not planning my wedding yet. No, no, I am not.
