Oh, don't be. I only have 40 days because my contract isn't permanent (I've no idea how to say "contrato a plazo fijo" in english, LOL). So instead of returning on february 20th, I'll come back on march 1st, the date when my new contract starts. Yeah, I have 10 more days but I won't get a salary again until the end of march. :( It's a great thing you have 30 days, we thought that UdeC was going to have like two weeks of summer vacations, with the amount of time the students lost because of the strike. :D
Oh, that sucks about no salary in vacations... The first year I had an 11 month contract and that also meant no salary during vacations :-/
Haha no our vacations are never in jeopardy! We simply had a short semester, 2 months. Probably many students will fail because they don't have the practice now. And we'll start the new semester right after the old one ends (it ends March 9th and the new one starts March 12th - it will be SO chaotic because the students are supposed to register their courses also on March 12th).
