Awww, there’s something kind of sad about this one, like the fact that it’s so quiet and the whole John-being-a-single-parent deal.

Yeah, being a single parent isn't necessarily a sad deal, but I think it is in John's case. I thinking it might even be a kind of lonely experience for him.
