Thanks! I know - it's been heaven to finally have a place to park my stuff after trying to cram it into apartments and keep it out from under roommates' toes (fortunately I've always lived with very understanding people on that front).
I'll actually be gone from about Dec 16 to Jan 13, but then I'll be around.
aww, well there's a little dance event we're doing in Berkeley on the 30th that I wanted to invite you to perform at...so next round we'll do it :)
But there is Cafe Bellie on December 10th! I'll be performing/vending, and if you're up for dancing drop Luna an email---tell her who ya are/where ya from and that Tempest sent ya--she may have space left :) details on her site at http://www.lunabelly.com
Wow. How did the dance testing go? I see you've listed the gown as an installation...does that mean it's not wearable? Understandable, but unfortunate. I'd love to see how it works on the body.
It went well - surprisingly nothing 'popped.' I have video, which I may post if I can get it edited decently...
Everybody at the review said the same thing about the dress. My instructor is plotting to hook me up with the director of a modern dance company she performs with to put this and the other snap piece on dancers and see what happens (possibly with the idea of collaborating to produce a video). I think if I put it in the gallery like this, I'd make it bigger so the skirt swallowed the room and the verticals ran up the walls and out of sight. As is, it's slightly longer than I am, and I need platform boots to negotiate the hem.
BYE BYE HAIR! aaaaaa! It looks great! (and trust me to notice your haircut first thing before anything else. :P)
The dress is magnificent. I hate to ask how much time and money went into that, but it looks well worth both. Can I have it? :D
I'm putting a girl, Michelle, who just moved here and is then moving to SF in touch with you--she runs a gothic clothing store online and is an avid knitter. I don't think she knows anyone out there and will be moving to your location in early 2007. I expect you'll get along great--she reminds me a bit of you, and she's very nice. I'll make intros later, not on your LJ.
Of course you would! ;) Thanks. I'm still getting used to it, but it's sooooo nice to be able to wake up and not really have to do anything to it (yay for razors and layers).
There's most of 160 yards of snap tape in it at 2.00 a yard, so...you can have it for monies, but you could model it for free. It was actually pretty fast to make - around 20 hours studio time.
I'd love to meet her! There's a knitting circle getting started among some of the CCA grads, so there's craft support for her when she gets here.
Amen to that. 1 month and I'll be home though...and then there should be Spoon time and smoky treats.
I'll see if I can scrounge up some good products for you for the holidays. Yay hair goo. :)
I figured it was expensive, but I also look at how much I spent on Heather's hair installation and it's true--you get what you pay for. And art supplies are expensive. Fortunately, with you and I, everything is an art supply, as Willow says. :D I don't know if it'd fit me but I'd love to try it on, maybe with a black and silver hairpiece.
I'll poke Michelle and see if she'll still be here when you visit, and maybe we can get coffee or something. I've only hung out with her once or twice, but she's cool and knows a bunch of Adam's friends from high school (small world).
I can still give you a place to stay for the holidays if needs be. :)
I'll definitely be taking you up on the latter for at least part of the time. Still figuring out family plans and then I can be more specific on dates. It will be good to be home again. :)
Most definitely. I should be home from the evening of Dec 16th through Jan 13th, so plenty of time for making the rounds. I just have to see what's going on with the family and then I can make more specific plans.

will you still be in town for Dec 30th, or are you heading out somewhere for the holidays?

I dropped Luna an email on Friday, so we'll see if that pans out, but I'll definitely be in attendance. Thanks for the info!
