Vision thing

Necessity has driven me to partially develop the habit "always find specs *before* taking contact lenses out". It's not a perfect habit - the trouble is that most of the time, my glasses are where I think they should be, so if I just whip the lenses out, I can find the specs easily. String specs around neck as appropriate ==> no feeling around.

A classic for a reason!

Don't really want to wear my specs round my neck all day though. Partly because I'll have to anyway when I get presbyopia, and partly because the whole point of the contact lenses is not faffing with specs. :-)

Oh, not all day! Just have a "good enough" pair to string around your neck at de-contacting time, so you aren't disabled, and can find your "seeing glasses"...

Bad luck. I'd not come across night myopia before - inconvenient.
If I don't locate my specs before de-lensing, I have to pat surfaces until I dislodge something and it makes the noise of my spectacles. (Or put my lenses back in.)

You know, I'm surprised nobody has invented glasses that make a noise so you can find them easily. A cheerful 'hello!' perhaps, or a low growling.
