A succession of repetitive beats

As I've mentioned before, I have a Significant Birthday coming up, and am using it as an excuse to get round to doing lots of fun things.

One fun thing I haven't done in years - like, about five years or more - is go clubbing. So I fancy going clubbing to celebrate my birthday at some point in the next few months.

Only trouble is, I have almost ( Read more... )

a) No my clubbing days are too distant to be of use
b) YES but I suspect I shall have to fight Mike for it.

Cool! Er, apart from the fighting, obviously :-)

You know I only keep ignoring jazz near Milton Keynes?
Yes! Kick it or kiss it! Just no motherfuckin' Keane!

Your idea club sounds good to me, let me know if you find it :)

I was pondering over that. The best I did was:

You know I'm only kidding it's just not my Kup-of-tea

which is a bit week.

Aha!
You know I'm only kidding, it's just not my kink?

First one which actually sounds plausible...

Ooooh close. Google says: Your Kink is OK it's just not my kink.

(a) Would be very nice.
(b) I'm afraid I am an obscurist room-above-a-pub clubber, so don't know anywhere with a two-floor set-up. I can ask around, though. The poptimists may know.

Do you have your (a) and (b) reversed, or are you expressing a deep love of knowledge-for-its-own sake here?

Either way is good, but it'd help to know whether to count you in on the arrangements. :-)

It's been a long day. And it's only 11.30am.

Given appropriate dates I could join you if you don't mind me looking askance and occasionally saying "Douglas, how could you like this."

I don't get out clubbing as much as I used to and only know clubs you wouldn't like.

That would be excellent, in fact. As long as you don't mind me grinning back and occasionally saying "How can you not like this?", interspersed with, "It's a fair cop, I have no taste whatsoever, but I am old enough now to be excused caring".

*laugh* That seems a fair compromise.

Would love to come if at all possible. Which it may not be given my current 10.30pm bedtime, but you never know.

Have not been clubbing for years - last time I went to Popstarz it genuinely wasn't as good as it used to be, but that was years ago so it may have changed again. Duckie is great, not quite what you've specified but always good music.

Would be great to have you along, but entirely understand the difficulties of life with a baby.

Useful data on Popstarz, thanks. And yes, wondered about Duckie, and would definitely be up for a collective outing some time, but it's not quite what I'm after for this.
