I think it's important for children to learn to know their own mind and be able to come to their own decisions.

Don't think he has a lot more left to learn on that one :-)

Ah... untrue... it just needs the reverse psychology to be a lot more subtle. I mean even I'd see through that one.

*laughs* Yes, you're right, there is plenty of scope for being more subtle about persuading people to do things, including less overt reverse psychology. I had hoped to have longer before I needed to resort to those routinely on the kids, though!

To be fair, you'd never get as far as needing it. Somebody (preferably a woman) would just have to say it in a firm voice and you'd snap to it. Someone clearly got your conditioning in early.

This is fair enough -- I don't need reverse psychology to be manipulated -- indeed probably reverse would be confusing. Well it's a good thing -- it means I'm an obliging kind of person.
