Me: You could help your grandfather to get the laundry in.
**FIXME: [looks less than keen]
Me: [brightly] You could collect all the pegs together in the bag.
**FIXME: [unimpressed]
Grandfather: I don't think he can. I don't think he's big and clever enough.
**FIXME: [slightly testily] I *can*, I just don't want to.
And so reverse psychology is blown out of the water as a trick before he's even three. I can see we have a handful.
