General Rules:

- This is a Draco/Hermione award site and community. All nominated stories must contain Draco/Hermione as the main relationship.

- Please read the FAQ before asking a question; it will make things easier for everyone involved.

- A password is required to make a valid nomination. The password changes with each round and can be found in the rules. Make sure you read the rules and find the password, becaue any nomination made without the password, or with an incorrect password, will not be considered for voting.

Rules for Nomination:

- Nominations will take place in the community. You may only make nominations in the post set aside for nominations for that round.

- When making your nomintion, please use this format:
         Title:
         Author:
         Category:
         Story Link:
         Author's e-mail:
         Password:

- Please be sure to make the nomination for the right category! I will check nominations against their categories, and any stories found out of place will not be considered for voting.

- Each story may be nominated for up to two categories per round. Please respect this rule and do not nominate one story for every category; if that becomes the case the story in question will be considered for the first two categories it gets nominated for.

- Any author may be nominated for any amount of categories so long as you nominate different stories, and no story is nominated for more than two categories per round.

- However, if an author has two different stories nominated for the same category when voting starts, the second story nominated will be removed; it can be re-nominated for the next round.

- A story may not be nominated for a category it has already won for. However, if it lost the category in a previous round, it may be nominated until it wins or until the cows come home.

- During nominations you may nominate an unlimited amount for stories per category. However, a category must have at least 5 stories nominated before it will run for the round.

- You may nominate yourself. However, if you are the one to cast a nomination for yourself, someone will have to "second" your nomination for it be considered for voting.

- The password for this round is: winter

Rules for Voting:

- Once a category has 5 nominations, it will run for voting. However, if there are more than five stories nominated a preliminary voting period will take place to find the top five stories per category. These five stories will then compete against each other in the final voting.

- Voting will take place in the community. You have to have a LJ account to cast a vote here.

- You may vote only once per category. Please do not spam the awards! If I find out you are doing this, you will be banned from the community.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q What is the point of the community?
A The community is used to streamline the nominating and voting processes. It also makes it easier for everyone to find out about updates and such.

Q What's the point of the site then?
A The site is used to list the nominees and links back to the stories. It also tells you what stories have previously won, which you need to know when nominating so as to avoid nominating a story in a category it has already won in.

Q Who provides the awards graphics?
A See this list of credits.

Q Who started this site?
A This site was created by Tonya. After a couple of rounds she handed the site over to Heidi, who ran it through round three and up to voting on round four. However, she soon when MIA and left the site without an administrator. I stepped in because I loved it too much to see it die, and because I knew other people out there wanted it to live. So now I run it as a site and community.

Q What is the minium numer of nominations per category?
A This is covered in the rules.

Q Can an author have more than one story nominated in the same category?
A No they cannot. However, they may have more than one story nominated per round, as long as each story is nominated in different categories.

Q Nominations have ended, but I forgot to get my nominations in. Can I e-mail them to you?
A No. Once nominations have closed, that's it. All other nominations and e-mails will be ignored.

Q Oops, I've nominated a story in the wrong category! How do I fix this?
A You can make a second comment (in reply to the original), with the correct category. Or you can e-mail me with the correct category.

Q Oops, I've posted an incorrect link to the nominated story. What do I do?
A Reply to your comment with the correct link, or e-mail it to me.

Q Do you give out awards for second place?
A While we use to give out awards to the second place winners, time constraints have put a halt to that for now. For this round at least, only first place winners will receive awards. However, second place winners will receive a graphic acknowledging they won second place at "He Had It Coming."

Q In the last round story A won first place in category 1. Can I nominate story A for category 2 this round?
A Yes.

Q What is the difference between a nominee and a finalist?
A When more than five stories have been nominate in one category, a preliminary voting period will take place to narrow the stories down to the top five. The five stories with the most votes will become finalists, and will be voted on in the actual voting period. You can see more about this in the phases post.

Q How long will the awards graphics be up?
A The awards graphics will be posted after the winners are announced, and they will be up on the site and the community for a week before they are taken down. This is to prevent theft while allowing a long enough window of time for the winners to pick up their awards.

Q Why do I need a password to make a nomination?
A This is to make sure that you've read the rules. Each round will have a new password, so you will have to read them for each round, even if you've made nominations in previous rounds.

If you have a question that was not covered in the FAQ, or you would like further clarification of a rule, either reply to this post with your query, or e-mail me at knowsall5@hotmail.com
