Zero words, baby. Mostly because I had to completely scrap my original story idea and start from scratch. That story was way too epic and the tone was shifting into something the requestor didn't want. I have New idea, but I want to write the old one! I need some inspiration, I think, and some serious motivation.

Me too. I tried to incorporate an old fic into my assignment and it was too much! I still want to write it but like you need some inspiration and motivation..

Well~ after mass-brainstorming upon receipt of my assignment, I went into a lull. I'm just getting over my reverse culture shock / return from 1.5years abroad / funk I was in and finally starting to take care of me and my life. Once I've taken care of a few things, I hope I can write something. Easiest prompt ever.. just was way too ambitious earlier and now drawing a blank.

Pare it down to something manageable. Get rid of the excess and work with the meat. You can always go back later and add a Prequel, Epilogue or Sequel.

Ah those pesky history papers, not much fun to write for most people; surprisingly not that fun to grade either as I am currently wading my way through a stack comprised mostly of poorly-written ones. Good luck with the writing on both fronts.

My sanity aside, I think I'm doing well. My only problem stems from the fact that I am entirely too indecisive, and can't decide which of my two ideas I want to stick with. So instead of doing the smart thing and picking one (like a normal human being) I cleverly decided to start writing both (like a crazy person). I guess we'll go from there? I have close to 8k, two thirds of that being for the idea I'm starting to lean towards. I'm just having the usual concerns -- is it something my recipient will enjoy, etc etc.

Sounds like a good plan! The muse will soon pick the story he/she prefers, and then you'll already have a lot written for it! The only problem is if the story wants to be epic. GOOD LUCK!
