I'd wanted to wait until Friday to post this, and then I'd planned on posting every Friday until our fics are due, but I just couldn't wait. And since yesterday marked the 1-month-until-due date, I figured now was a good time

So far, I'm at 2.6K, and forsee this one going to at least 5K.
Bloody hell, I've switched the story idea three complete times now (well, at least I have stories started for either other fic exchanges or for just posting up for fun...sigh). I'm so excited for this exchange to be perfect because it's dmhg's last (sob), and am working myself up into high-anxiety mode as a result. I really want my recipient to like her gift, though!
I'm such a 'mum-freak' (in the words of my 18-year old). ;)
With the request I got, it's gonna be a long one, since I needed to come up with a new angle on an old cliche. I tried forcing a different story idea until it got so twisted in my head that I just drop-kicked it to the side and moved on to something different, which is working much better.
Oh, I know! What I've done is taken the cliche and instead of making it the center of the story, it's just an issue that needs to be dealt with and then 'poof', on to the rest of the story. It's flowing easier now, and I'm thinking of all the little goodies I can work with. Mwhahaha!
FRUSTRATED! I wrote over 7000 words yesterday, but upon re-reading what I had, I have determined that I HATE it, so I'm scrapping all of it. *sigh* Truly frustrated as I now don't have an idea of what to do.
Without giving anything away, if we were to "blind brainstorm" you here, perhaps it might help?
For instance, if I give you the following prompts, perhaps you will find inspiration? (*hoping*):
A carousel ride Taking an afternoon float down the river Thames Meeting in a petshop Walking along the beach and collecting shells Dress shopping fiasco A demon kisses an angel Purple plaid couch naughty fun Slumming in Knockturn Alley Piano playing at the bar Jungle hunt Fun With Wands 101 Irish drinking games for beginners

On one hand, it's easy because you can basically write whatever you want, but on the other hand, you hope said recipient will like it.
