I don't even know what's wrong with me, that I never thought to use the term "kissy kissy time" on a final exam. Also, I have to say that "to enable them to meet and have kissy kissy time" could be used as the summary for 80% of crossover stories. I approve of that student. In a way.

Apparently that's what kids are calling it these days... For myself, I think that if I ever read that phrase in any kind of non-crack fic I would expect the characters in question to fall on the floor laughing.

In some ways, my students' papers are sort of like reading crack fic...

I can totally see Jack Harkness using the phrase kissy kissy time. ("Hey there, big boy, how about some kissy kissy time? Wait, sorry, busted translator circuit. I meant to invite you back to the Hub for relocation to the appropriate temporal stream. Although, hey, if you also want some kissy kissy time, I'm not going to say no, big boy.")

And Sherlock. ("John, send a text. Say, 'Let's meet for kissy kissy time at 7:10, 22 Northumberland Street.' Why are you laughing? It's a perfectly acceptable term for it. I saw it on the internet.")

And Jim Kirk (reboot). ("Yeah, so then I slammed five tequilas and asked his twin daughters to come up to my place for kissy kissy time."

"I am unfamiliar with this approach to diplomacy, Captain."

"It wasn't diplomacy. I just wanted to get laid. I didn't even realize he was the ambassador until the next morning ( ... )

You... make a valid point...

I maintain that in new BSG, though, there is no place for kissy kissy time.

I bet Merlin would use it and then Arthur would hit him with something.

I have to admit that I'm a bit fond of "Alexander the Great conquered damn near all the known world" and "kissy kissy time".

The first one in particular is basically correct, I just wonder a little when students decide to swear on tests.

ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT is one of those great classical portraits of Alexander the Great...in a pope's hat.
