Jack could hear the sound of laughter coming from the bedroom as he stood in the kitchen dipping strawberries into chocolate and mixing Ianto’s favorite drink. He had no idea why Ianto was in the other room laughing, but he figured he’d find out soon enough. He picked up the tray, carefully balancing it with one hand as he shut the bedroom door behind him. Not that there was anyone around to walk in on them, but it was more out of habit since most of their shenanigans took place in his office.
“What’s so funny?” he asked, setting the food down on the bedside table. He popped a chocolate covered strawberry into his mouth as he waited for the other man’s reply.
Between fits of laughter, Ianto replied, “There’s a Coupling marathon on. It’s the one where…” Ianto didn’t get to finish the sentence, as one of the characters on the television sent him into another spurt of giggles.
Jack eyed him strangely. “You’re telling me that I have managed an alien-free weekend in a secluded cottage in the Welsh countryside as a romantic getaway for the two of us and all you want to do is watch telly?”
Ianto leaned across Jack to grab a piece of chocolate covered fruit for himself. “Coming from the man who managed to secure a place in the beautiful Welsh countryside and wants to spend the entire weekend indoors?” He placed the fruit in his mouth, widening his eyes and making a face.
“Touché,” Jack replied. “But,” he began, “what I had in mind is really something that should be done inside.”
“You’ve never been one for conventional before,” Ianto teased, “but if you insist…” He leaned closer to Jack, pressing his lips against his neck.
Jack pulled away, surprising Ianto. Wrapping the sheet around himself, he hopped out of the bed and began walking out the door. He looked back to see a naked Ianto lying in the bed, totally confused. “Are you coming? This was your idea, after all.”
Ianto stood up quickly, grabbing his haphazardly tossed boxers and pulling them on as he hurried out of the bedroom after Jack.

Afterwards, Jack and Ianto were lying in the grass, both of them wrapped in the sheet, sweaty and panting. Ianto’s boxers were tossed to the side, forgotten in their rush to be with each other.
When it was all over, Jack commented, “Wales is beautiful.” His breath was short. “Especially the outdoors.”
“Yeah,” Ianto replied in a similar manner. “Much better than telly.”
