I like Drama Prince so much! Ups and downs of parenting aside, I just really adore the little baby person he is. I like that (for the moment) he's sociable. I like listening to him babble away in his crib for an hour when he wakes up. I like the way he laughs when he's happy ( Read more... )

Hooray for book nerds!

My friend's baby is really getting into books right now, too (he's 6 months old). Last night he was enthralled with a book on the Kings and Queens of Europe.

I like that your baby is an equal opportunity book nerd. Pick a book! Any book!

Glad the little Drama Guy is already learning to appreciate reading.

Abby's been like that pretty much from the day she came home from the hospital. One time, she discovered one of my books, picked it up and flipped through it, but was disappointed that there were 'no pictures'. She did, however, find a seed and gardening catalogue quite fascinating, with pictures of 'big digger', 'bucket' and 'shovel'.

She was flipping through your books the day she came home from the hospital? Those are some impressive motor skills!

Yes, indeed .. in between crocheting, playing piano and building integrated circuits.

Actually P and C both read to Abby at bedtime pretty much from the day she was born .. when she later learned what those funky wiggly things at the end of her hands were useful for, she started flipping through books on her own.

Blue Hat, Green Hat produced the most amazing and infectius laughs from Ethan. We have a few of her books, love them all.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See was the first book Ethan memorized. One day, he just started to recite it outloud, in order, to our sheer amazement.

The Gruffalo is MY favourite of all his books. Its so cute to read (you can do silly voices). I highly recommend this and anything else by the author (we have a few of her books.

If you don't have 'Pyjama Time', it's well worth tracking down.

Pyjama Time, Goodnight Moon and The Going to Bed Book are our "Make Baby Sleepy" trinity.

If you want book recommendations, talk to pezchica! I bought a book about spiders for her to read to Kayla, and she actually sings it. Also, Jim does an amazing job at reading an egg book to Kayla... I forget which one.

Babies!
