[ You get a very cheery Doctor waving at you all, beaming brightly. This has been the most exciting part of his month, okay, don't judge him
( Read more... )
[ he frowns and rolls his eyes before he draws a rough approximation of himself on the whiteboard, nerd glasses, suit and all, with two speech bubbles - one has a drawing of the Earth inside it, one has several galaxies drawn in miniature. he holds it up looking mildly unimpressed. he speaks a LOT of languages, okay Azula?
after he's sure he's given her enough time to see it, he adds a duck to that picture, draws an arrow from the duck to himself, and puts big two big Xs through the speech bubble. viruses are annoying. ]
[ he tilts his head and taps the pen across the desk, frowning. how to say that the community seems to be translating whatever he says in whatever language right back into his native one?
-- ah, he's got it. he rubs out the previous pictures and draws himself again with a speech bubble with Earth in, draws an arrow pointing from that to a duck, and then draws an arrow from the duck to another speech bubble with weird Gallifreyan circle-writing in it. ]

[ after raising his eyes a little at the translation box, he grins and babbles a bit more bird-string-speak out of excitement and habit, because that is brilliant. then he holds up two fingers. ]
[ he mimes drawing a smile on his own face, then puts two thumbs up to try and reinforce the word he's going for. communicating some words in mime is difficult! ]
[ ... okay, that's weird. he kind of blinks at that and looks INTRIGUED, because alright, that's weird. trolls, what can you do with 'em, eh.
curiously, he draws a simplistic human, draws a cross through it, and then draws another human outline next to it with alien feelers and eyes to illustrate his point. he's definitely not human. then he holds it right up to the screen so she can get a good sniff of it, since that seems to be how this works. ]
[Her mouth twists into an intrigued grin and she smells her screen a bit before replying.]
Yeah, okay. You are definitely not human. But that's cool, I'm not either! I dunno how much I'd like being a pink wriggler. I'd miss my horns.
[And then she's realizing you draw, Doctor. Oh lord. She takes out her chalk and starts drawing, and then shows a terribly shitty picture of herself with a cane.]
[ oh, so much grinning. IT SHALL BE A PICTIONARY BATTLE FOR THE AGES. although piecing together the terrible picture, the cane in said picture and the glasses, it explains why there's all that sniffing. welp, he's seen weirder and worse things in his time, and she seems to be dealing with being blind pretty well, so he won't dwell on that.
he does a drawing of Aradia, instead, since she's the troll he knows best. you two do know each other, right? ]
[ his face is practically glowing as it splits into a HUGE GRIN - both because he'd recognise Harry Potter anywhere, and also because of the compliment. on his whiteboard he doodles a Harry with his own pencil and paper, and next to it a smiley face with a question mark. does he like a spot of pictionary himself? ]
[ He grins back at the drawing. That's so funny. He's making sure he's got clean paper and... make attempt at drawing the doctor with his whiteboard on it before holding it up to show him-- just for the sake of doing it back. ]
I've never played before. Hopefully I'm not horrible at it.
[ he flashes a thumbs up with his grin this time, because he's pretty sure he'll be fine with it. then he doodles a castle with broomsticks flying around it, along with his question mark. yep, that's meant to be hogwarts. ]
[ he nods again vigorously! then he holds up his tried and tested doodle of himself with a speech bubble containing the earth, pointing to a duck, pointing to a speech bubble of himself with a speech bubble containing a scribble. silly community translators. ]

[she points to the addition to his picture, then draws a little stick figure giving a thumbs up symbol; she agrees 8|]
