Um... I don't mean to alarm anyone, but it seems the community has developed trinary code!

I just thought everyone should know!

What's wrong with ternary logic?

Oh, is that what it's called? I didn't know it had a name, sir! It's just never been there before, you see, so I'm really very alarmed!

It's just true/false/undetermined. It lets you do some really flexible code.

Oh, then you must be a programmer, sir! Perhaps you could help me figure this out, if you aren't busy?

Is that usually something alarming...? What's trinary code in Layman's terms?

Reply

areyoulovers February 5 2011, 02:04:21 UTC
Well, binary code is 0's and 1's-- it's what people usually think of when they think of computer language. So trinary code seemed to be an appropriate name for coding that uses three numbers...

I actually knew about binary, but that's about the extent of my knowledge. This third number...it wouldn't happen to be a two, would it?

Yes, it is, Mr. Lockon! But how did you know...?

What does that mean?

areyoulovers February 5 2011, 02:25:20 UTC
Well, how I would explain depends on if you use a computer in your time or not, sir!

I use a book. I have heard of computers around here but have only seen one when I did a worldhop.

The year here is 1906, if that helps.

I see! Then basically what happened is that something about the underlying structure of the way computers worked changed in a way that it definitely shouldn't!

What does that mean?

Basically, it means that the underlying structure of a program was changed in a very strange way by coming in contact with the community!

That's not normal, is it?

Reply

areyoulovers February 5 2011, 02:59:22 UTC
Yes, it's very not normal! I wonder what could have caused it...?

Yes, it's quite alarming!

Do you think it means anything?

Reply

Well, everything means something, but we are thinking that this is something especially significant!
