So, because of a few things.. and people; I'm curious.

Where do your fears come from? I don't care if you say what they are and all of that - but I'm curious where they come from. When you were little, a traumatic experience - what... exactly. And did you ever face it or are you still living with it?

While we're at it; would you rather find a way ( Read more... )

That's odd. There's no reason to fear me. Or to.. gain fears from me.

I wasn't making excuses so much as stating, really.

I'd be a fucking horrible liar if I said I didn't have my fears, but I guess most of mine come from experiences.

And I'm more of a believer in confronting it directly- avoiding the situation tends to make things worse.

Yea, avoiding these things usually doesn't make it better.

Experiences. Like just general life experiences?

For the most part. Things I'd rather not remember at this point, mostly.

I suppose it's good that you're more willing to face them then. You won't have to look back on them at all after that.

I would say mine have come from personal experiences. However- most of them I have overcome in time.

Though that doesn't mean they don't try to come back and frighten me once in a while. It's hard to beat back at times, but I've found my reasons as to why I do.

I suppose they all come back sooner or later. Fears are there for a reason, right?

Reasons why they come back; you mean?

Of course, we won't grow stronger otherwise. It's part of being an individual.

Well, more like reasons I've found to keep them at bay. When the fears come, I can remind myself of why I beat it, and what for. And- who helped me there, if that's one of the causes as well.

Sort of. A lot of people have the same fears though - but I know what you're getting at.

Seems like you've got it worked down to a system then?

I think mine are normal. I don't see how I could "fix" them.

They're there to make sure we react the way we should.

I think all fears can be faced some how. Maybe not 'fixed' but at least dumbed a bit. Unless its... I don't know. A death fear.

and what way is that?

maraihi July 29 2009, 04:33:43 UTC
Like a fear of losing my children. Having that fear helps me protect them and watch out for them.

...I see. But you'd do that regardless wouldn't you?

You must have a certain restraint not to let it affect you too strongly.

My fears come from experiences, I think. I've had to face them before.

If it were just a little fear that showed up occasionally, it would be fine to keep it. If it were something debilitating, I'd think you would have to face your fear.

Huh. Do you feel stronger because of it?
