Since I gather there are plenty of heroes, superheroes, and generally nice and good people around here. Answer me this:

Would killing all criminals make the world a better place?

...put some thought into it.

Aha...

And why is that, Kasumi-san?

There is always the argument of, "we would be as bad as them if we kill", and I do half agree. However, with any sort of killing, there would be only sadness. No matter what someone has done...there are ways to reform.

Aah. You believe in people then.

... No. Not all crimes deserve death - nor are all crimes committed out of selfish motives. You have to know where to draw the line.

So as long as you only kill, say, all murderers and rapists it would still be making the world a better place?

No. Two wrongs don't make a right - it's justice we're looking for, not revenge.

Good. I see this place has sensible people.

Not a good guy but; Fuck that.

There's no point to trying to kill every criminal. Humanity is fucking corrupted eitherway.

You don't suppose it'd scare people away if they knew that comitting a serious crime would get them killed?

Does it scare people away from doing things that purposly give me a reason to kill them? Not really. There are too many shitheads in the world who think they'll get away without being noticed. They think they're above death.

I suppose a good majority of the scum would be scared shitless and try to be 'good' though.

Well, most people here are pretty much sheep by the looks of it. Either that, or they still fail miserably at trying.

...so who are you anyway?

No. It's unethical and would make the legal system ineffective because it would be lowered to the same level as those criminals. We would be no better than they are if we resorted to the same methods, regardless of whether or not we thought it "just."

That is what I think as well. At least people here aren't as quick to accept things like these as they seem to be in my own world.

I imagine if something like that is happening on your world, then the element of fear has been introduced into the equation. It generally acts as a strong persuading factor on public opinion.

It has been, that is true. But there are people here who honestly seem to think that killing criminals solves something, and that is why I posted this question.

It would only make criminals out of the legal system.

Oh, but it isn't the legal system that's killing the people here... even though I think some of the governments are too scared to disapprove at this point..

If it isn't the legal system doing it, then it's a crime in and of itself. Mass murder isn't excusable, regardless of the victims' criminal records.

Hmm. Yes, I agree. But it's... rather complicated to do something against it.
