To Logo or Not to Logo, That is the Question...

I am trying to get more serious about my doll photography; really, my photography in general, about 90% of which uses my dolls as subjects. With that in mind I recently acquired my first DSLR and have been exploring principles of photography from the ground up. There is SO much to learn!

One thing that has intrigued me for a while is that many ( Read more... )

Thank you, for both reply and compliment. You are one of the people I remember as always adding a signature to your work, ever since I've "known" you. I doubtI would go as far as to label my photostory pictures, as that might get in the way of the story's flow; however, those photographs that I've put a great deal of thought and preparation into, or anything I am particularly proud of, maybe I will start inserting a logo to make them more obviously my own.

Thank you for your input - I do appreciate hearing from you. :)

When I started using Flickr I started adding my signature to the photos more because I had read some comments from other posters at Flickr about photo theft, and I thought this would be an attempt to discourage that. Now it's starting to become a habit, as sometimes I'm not sure what photo's I'm going to upload through Flickr and what photos I'm not.

As for the name, most of the boards I post on I post as JinCincy, so that's just what I use as a signature on my photos as well.

Thanks for your reply. I still don't know what I am going to do - it seems kind of silly to take the extra steps (for myself) if there isn't a really good reason for doing it. Since I don't derive income from my photography, I don't usually consider the problem of intellectual property theft, but I know it can and does occur.

I have the added problem of having more than one screen name online. I'm not sure many recognize this one, and this is the one I would want to use.
