Know what's more fun than trimming an infant's fingernails? Trimming his toenails. I'm pretty sure I just gave my son 10 soon-to-be ingrowns

I've been giving Evie oatmeal cereal for the past week or so and she took to it pretty well. I decided to try regular rice cereal on her yesterday and she spent an hour and a half screaming from bad gas last night. It was worse than her colic screaming in that nothing would calm her down - even bouncing. So I'm going to stick with the oatmeal cereal. So if you try something on him and it doesn't take, don't get discouraged. There are so many options out there for cereal!
I still swaddle Liv and I use the wedge in her crib. She's not rolling over yet so I don't want her to get stuck in one position or the other. I had her in the crib this morning while I was in the shower and I didn't use the wedge. I found her with her legs through the slats. So I think I am going to get one of those breathable bumpers today (or this weekend) for her crib. Anyway.
Re: Cereal - I started Liv on the Beechnut Cereal and Liv did okay with it. But after a couple times, I got that she didn't like the taste. So I tried the Gerber cereal with Mixed Fruit and that was much better. Although, the apple flavor is her favorite. I've also give Liv most all of the veggies, and she's had some bananas. All the food though has gotten her all plugged up. I did give her peaches last night and that seem to get things moving along. I hope G goes through the transition without issue.
Oh yes, I definitely plan on videotaping Gabriel's first attempt at solid food! This'll be one to show at his Bar Mitzvah, and then wedding some day... I got Gabriel the Gerber Single-Grain Rice Cereal, because that's what they had at the drugstore near me. We'll try it a few times and if he really hates it, maybe we'll try the one with mixed fruit, or the Beechnut

I really don't know what to say about having to hold his arms down to get him to sleep, but if it works, and puts him right out, then go with it. He seems to be very good at letting you know when is his 'over' certain things, like when he was done with the swaddle.
Thanks. Yeah, I hope this phase is over quickly and he goes back to just needing a little head or belly patting and some "shhhh"ing to go to sleep. Holding his arms down weirds me out.
