First day!

Feb 04, 2008 21:45

The first day of school was a grand success all around :)

Maddy had a great day.  She’s got a male teacher on Mondays, and then her teacher from last year for the rest of the week.  She actually likes the male teacher a lot (he was in the school last year teaching years 6 and 7) and he likes her, because she’s bright and he can have a joke with ( Read more... )

Yes, the first day is always a bit of a worry. I'm just glad they all had a good day :)

Yeah, she'll only be 14 when she goes to Singapore! I'm trying not to think about it too much yet :/

Poor you.

I had to walk home in the freezing cold today. *shivers* I'll send you some of my weather for some of yours.

Thats good that they had a good day. Today was my first day back for second semester, it was ok.

We'll take anything cold at the moment! It's become unbearable *ick*

It's good to get the first day behind us :) Yay for good (well, okay) days all around *g*

I vote for snow cones and lots of iced drinks! I'll join in the pouting if it gets you the AC sooner, lol :) Awesome! Singapore at 14, 'cept my mum would have never let me off the island at that age (probably still wouldn't, beh) I want a pool as well. I need to actually learn how to swim this year :D

At least Mitch shows a positive interest in something. My brother won't stick to metalwork or woodwork or anything concrete. Besides, grease monkeys are adorable ;)

I can't even get the ice to form properly for snow cones *pouts* It's just too hot! We're going through god only knows how many liters of water a day!

Singapore's still over a year away, so we'll see :) She's quite mature for her age, so while I'd worry I wouldn't forbid her to go (besides it's part of the sports program).

We're getting a pool in our next house!

You don't know how to swim? That's almost unheard of over here. My kids started lessons before they could crawl!

Mitch is very determined to become a mechanic, so he's sticking to the courses he knows will help him to achieve that :)

The irony of it is that I live like 15 minutes away from the beach :) You can see the sea from anywhere in Montego Bay. I took swimming lessons when I was younger, so I know the basics. Mummy says I just need to practice more :\

I couldn't imagine living so close to the ocean (we live five minutes away) and not know how to swim.

Singapore?! O.o   *wibbles*

YAY! Off to a good start. Those are the best, huh? *grin*

The 15th, huh? Damn. Well hopefully Mitch's mate's pool will help that time go by. ;)

*huggles you tight*

Yes, but it's over a year away yet *wonders if they need parent helpers*

I'm so relieved to have them all start well *g*

I'm a little annoyed at the air con people, but then they're really busy, so there's little we can do about it *sigh* We're welcome at his friend's house anytime for a swim. His mum actually enjoys me coming over, because it gives her someone to swim with and chat to :)

*huggles*

Yes! They will need parent helpers! *nods*

I understand they get busy, too, but it still doesn't help. *sigh* *sends good cooling thoughts your way* ♥

I can hope *grins*

No, it doesn't help *sigh* But with having to line up three different workmen (installer, plumber and electrician) I dare not complain or they might not come all at once.
