It's been stewing in the back of my head for years now, and since seeing redlettermedia's reviews of the Star Wars prequels, I've almost made up my mind to actually do it - take the prequels, rip them to shreds, throw the shreds in the wood-chipper, throw whatever's left into a volcano, and then write them from scratch the way they should have been ( Read more... )

I'd suggest looking for online Star Wars encyclopedias, maybe start at the Star Wars wiki, and work your way out from there. Of course, that wouldn't help you with the "need someone else to help" bit, but it would at least get you started on EU stuff like extensive planet lists, possibly maps, and probably more detailed character info than has any right to exist :P

I would help, but my love of Star Wars is limited to the movies, and the TFU games (which probably gets me labeled as a blasphemer among Star Wars fans, but IDGAF; TFU/TFUII are fun, damn it).

My husband suggested much the same thing. If only my brother didn't live so far away; I'm sure he could help, he was obsessed with Star Wars as a kid. He had those illustrated books with character descriptions, he read the novels and he had Star Wars Lego sets and action figures all over his room.
