I wonder if I could do it...

It's been stewing in the back of my head for years now, and since seeing redlettermedia's reviews of the Star Wars prequels, I've almost made up my mind to actually do it - take the prequels, rip them to shreds, throw the shreds in the wood-chipper, throw whatever's left into a volcano, and then write them from scratch the way they should have been done in the first place. The thing is, if I were to do this, if I even could do it, I would need a boat-load of help from people with more geek-cred in the Star Wars 'verse than I have. Ideally, I think I would want to collaborate with my brother; but he's in Arizona and still in college and I doubt he could take time to help me even if he wanted to. Even my husband doesn't have enough knowledge to be of much help. I need background, I need character sketches, I probably need friggin' star maps. In essence, this would be a fix-it fanfic of truly epic proportions, and I can't possibly do it justice alone; I know my limitations. But someone, someone has to do it, or at least make the attempt, and thus far I've seen no indication that anyone has. I love Star Wars. Not as much as some, probably, but enough that I can't bear to let its mutilated corpse sit there on horrific display when I might be able to grip it tight and raise it from perdition. But I haven't even much of an idea where to start.

So. Random rambling over. Check out RedLetterMedia's review below.
