Tia_Tarina and I have really enjoyed living in Taos. It really is beautiful, we do not take the mountains for granted. Each day we spend some time rhapsodizing about the place ( Read more... )

A house you love?! With a *turret*?! Wonderful, and congratulations!

But seriously, to leave Taos? What about the allergy situation?

Ah, to clarify.... dragonherder1 November 9 2008, 20:49:13 UTC
The house is the one that Mork and Mindy lived in. We haven't found a house yet.

Colorado is still fairly dry, so I *think* that we will be alright. But that is why we are going to rent for a year....

Oops. Totally misunderstood the post. But cool that you found "the house"! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's the right place for y'all ... when I visit family in Colorado, it's astonishingly dry. Which makes both the cold and hot quite bearable, and the static electricity astonishing!

Boulder. I hate you. WONDERFUL city. Look up my godsiblings while you're there! Colorado is like NewMexico--great for reducing allergies. You might, though, consider the drier Western Slope.

Lovely up there. We had friends from Houston who moved to Boulder in part for allergy-relief reasons, so you should still be good. It'll take quite a road trip to visit, though!

Good luck, Boulder is great (or at least was when I visited)! I've seen THE HOUSE!

So far Tia and I have rewatched the first six dragonherder1 November 10 2008, 04:54:23 UTC
episodes of the show. They have mentioned the actual address twice!

I was shocked.

Best,

David

I lived in Boulder when I was 8 -- around the time Mork and Mindy started running. It was a beautiful little town. And, thanks to no-growth laws, it still is.

It's also the home for this:The 60th Annual Conference on World Affairs", which I just learned about and that I was thinking of attending at some point. It's free and open to the public and apparently full of awesomeness. The Conference on World Affairs, originally founded in 1948 as a forum on international affairs, expanded rapidly in its early years to encompass the arts, media, science, diplomacy, technology, environment, spirituality, politics, business, medicine, human rights, and so on. Roger Ebert, who has participated in the CWA for thirty-eight consecutive years, refers to the CWA as "the Conference on Everything Conceivable."

It really does seem like a great town.

Do you know if Boulder smiled at the idea of Mork living somewhere (well, at 1619 Pine Street) in the city?

The conference sounds very interesting and in stride with the town as we've seen it so far.

Boulder also apparently hosts an annual Naked Pumpkin Run. Which also seems to fit, somehow.

Best,

David

...to see that it is Boulder that has caught your hearts.

A naked Pumpkin Run. Perhaps you can get up a team for Pumpkin Chunkin'? I am mad for the sport. If I had no other obligations in the fall, I'd head for New Jersey, where I believe the biggest competition takes place.

I hate you moving still further out, but I know you two are very self-reliant, and I trust you will be happy. New mountains for Tara to paint!
