Kali Fairy Dress: Work in Progress photos

Apr 13, 2007 09:38

As part of her Introduction story, Kali will be having a shoot of her in the forest.. and the next shoot would be her capture shoot. So I've been working on her "Fairy dress". I don't think it came out fairy-ish though. In my design I wanted it to have zig-zag ends, but I remembered trying that out before and hemming it in was bad and lining it ( Read more... )

Oooooh, the beaded flower is very nice! I like that a lot. And ya know, you don't have to always "finish" a hem. The dress for my CH Unique Runaway Bride had raw edges for the hem. Depending on the fabric, you can run a line of semi-tight zigzag near the bottom edge and then fringe the fabric. That would look nice for a fairy dress, IMO.

Is there a photo of the hem I can take a look at?

I might redo it and make version 2!

Thanks for clear informative photos! I think I will have a try at handkerchief dresses in some remnant fabric before trying on the chiffon. Those dresses are gorgeous, there must be layers underneath, puffs out wonderfully!

Thanks again! =)

Lovely beading!

I agree, a dark plum sash or belt around the waist would be nice. Gathered lace on the edge of of the skirt could be pretty, but you don't want to distract from the beading...

Thanks... I'll have to practice beading more and make it less messy ^_^;;

MMm.. I'll finish this dress and have a practice shoot and see what I need for the actual setup, but then I'll try making Version 2, with a handkerchief-style skirt for the fairy look.. with beading too of course..

I think the hankerchief type of skirt would really look nice and add on to the 'fairy' look. Wings haven't started yet... -_-; But I found a nice dark blue jewel for the back part!!! Yeay!
