Not a Good Start

I took the new vehicle in for its first oil change on Friday. They took care of the tire rotation and oil change in pretty short order, but I did think it odd they asked if my computer system had been working OK. I think they hexed me. Driving around Friday and to the gas station this morning, the system was fine. After refueling, the audio ( Read more... )

The o nly problem I've had at all with my Mazda is the Bose sound system. It takes 7 minutes for the iPod to start, the Pandora stops every couple of songs and says the "device" is not available (except now it won't even start up at all.) And Sirius cut me off after 4 days, not 4 months as promised. (Yes, I know that's Sirius' problem, but it's just another thing that shows up on the audio screen. Also on the audio screen is the TomTom nav system, which does not recognize my new address. There are a dozen streets in Durham with "Chapel Hill" in the name, but it won't take "Old Chapel HIll Rd." Sometime I need to remember to turn on the nav system while I'm in the driveway and see where it says I am.

I'm wondering if the expiration of my Sirus trial (today) disabled the entire audio system. I'm hoping it is a coincidence

We had trouble with the thing recognizing voice commands--especially if there are two of us in the car. The iPod sometimes doesn't connect. I've been somewhat disappointed by the computer interface. In future, I'll avoid buying a vehicle that has such nonsense installed. I don't believe it is worth the extra expense.

At least the audio system was working again as of yesterday afternoon.

Also, Sirus reps will harrass you twice a day every day until you answer the phone to tell them you aren't interested in continuing their service. You will also receive a letter at least once a week. They don't even bother to leave you a message--I had to reverse look up the number to see who was calling from an unfamiliar number.
