Hey Wendy! What's a Faraday Cage?

Sep 12, 2012 09:54

Someone at work asked me an electrical engineering question just as you headed off to Pennsic. His question was whether a Faraday cage would protect the contents of a USB drive in the case of an EMP. I honestly didn't know the answer--mainly because I hadn't managed to get to the point of actually studying radiation effects on circuitry before I ( Read more... )

I meant to ask... Do you sleep on that side, either on the shoulder itself, or with your arm up? If so, try to avoid doing that. It aggravates the problem. I know, 'cause I have something similar (but not torn, just strained), and I have to remember not to sleep on my left side, otherwise the pain is worse in the a.m. Also, I don't know what your exercises were, but any exercise that strengthens the shoulder/back is a good one for decreasing the possibility of re-injury (start that once you are mostly healed).

I used to. Now I pretty much sleep on my back--which seems to suit Josie just fine. She thinks I am a big pillow or something....

You may be doing your exercises too hard. I know I did that at first thinking I must need to feel it a little as I was doing it (like normal exercise) for it to be working, but my PT said at first, while in pain, to keep it VERY light. It felt like I wasn't using any resistance at all but it did actually work, and a lot faster than I'd expected. Before he fixed what I was doing I actually made it worse for a bit.

I met with the therapist this morning. He wants me to concentrate on neck exercises first. Based on the symptoms I am describing, he thinks the source problem is there.
