I guess this could be considered the plot of Rhys finding something/deciding on what he she stand up for. Maybe he's meant to reflect the Player, trying to decide what to do in the whole Mage Question - except does anyone not just side with the Mages? Even I who thinks that setting them all free is a super bad idea and the circle plays an important role (it just needs to be a little more fantasy-Hogwarts), sides with setting the mages free almost 100%
The downside to having a protagonist do this that they spent most of the story being super passive.
Oh and umm sarcasm. I DON'T REMEMBER SHALE BEING THAT ANNOYING IN THE GAME. HOW VERY ODD.
