Is it just me, or is Rhys's characterization about as solid as quicksand? I think that's one of the things that drives me so batshit about this book.

I guess this could be considered the plot of Rhys finding something/deciding on what he she stand up for. Maybe he's meant to reflect the Player, trying to decide what to do in the whole Mage Question - except does anyone not just side with the Mages? Even I who thinks that setting them all free is a super bad idea and the circle plays an important role (it just needs to be a little more fantasy-Hogwarts), sides with setting the mages free almost 100%

The downside to having a protagonist do this that they spent most of the story being super passive.

Oh and umm sarcasm. I DON'T REMEMBER SHALE BEING THAT ANNOYING IN THE GAME. HOW VERY ODD.

How could David Gaider make Shale annoying? He was the one who wrote Shale in Origins in the first place!

I've not yet completed my anti-mage character in DA2. I did the same with you as have Beth die in the deeproads, but I also (for some reason) decided that this would be a good character to have hook up with Anders. I'm struggling a bit to get the mentality worked out.
